How vigilant are you?

This morning’s news had an article where someone unknowingly paid something like £450 for a loaf of bread. The mistake was only discovered when he went to buy something else and found there wasn’t enough money left in the bank to cover it. This reminded me of when my elderly mother had paid £40 for two onions. She’d used her debit card and didn’t check the amount she was paying. It was only when she mentioned her grocery bill appeared higher than normal that I checked her receipt and found the error. Seeing this article on the news this morning made we wonder just how many other people don’t bother to check their supermarket receipts. Are you one of them? How many people are paying stupid prices for their goods without knowing about it? How much money are the supermarkets generating from these errors in pricing? Tell me if this has happened to you or someone you know.

About caroleparkes

My husband calls me a butterfly because I flit from one hobby to another. Apart from being a wife for 52 years, a mother of three sons, and a grandmother, I'm also an author, genealogist, amateur artist, a lover of most needlecrafts, and occasional poet. Of the above, my most enduring interest has been writing and I hope to be doing it well into old age.
