I May Not Tell You I Love you

I May Not Tell You I Love You

I may not tell you I love you

Perfect husband of many years,

But you see the peaceful calm we have

And also the lack of tears.

I may not tell you I love you

Precious children who are now grown,

Yet you knew it from my behaviour

The same way you treat your own.

I cannot tell you I love you

My dear parents sadly deceased,

Yet, you knew it from the care I gave

That my loving never ceased.

I may not tell you I love you

But you all know it in your hearts,

The  fond memories you relate are

Proof enough when the chatting starts.

About caroleparkes

My husband calls me a butterfly because I flit from one hobby to another. Apart from being a wife for 52 years, a mother of three sons, and a grandmother, I'm also an author, genealogist, amateur artist, a lover of most needlecrafts, and occasional poet. Of the above, my most enduring interest has been writing and I hope to be doing it well into old age.
