Spoken poetry: Love a lie…

Love a lie

Love a lie

A thousand second chances

Destroyed without regret

Sanity burned to ashes

Ever since we met

So many broken promises

Deliberately thrown aside

Feelings tangled in a mess

Until common sense died

Excuses overflowing

Trying to hold on

A heart tiredly breaking

When will the love be gone?

Now this is the end

It’s time to say goodbye

Because now I finally understand

That I only love a lie

About caroleparkes

My husband calls me a butterfly because I flit from one hobby to another. Apart from being a wife for 52 years, a mother of three sons, and a grandmother, I'm also an author, genealogist, amateur artist, a lover of most needlecrafts, and occasional poet. Of the above, my most enduring interest has been writing and I hope to be doing it well into old age.
