89 Year Old Man Missing

DSCF7096

I just loved the news item today which told the story of an 89-year-old man whose Nursing Home managers told him he couldn’t go to Normandy to take part in the 70th Anniversary of the D Day Landings. He was found in Normandy after the Nursing home reported him missing.  Don’t you just love his spirit to arrange his own travel and  to go all that way from England on his own? This reminds me of my dad above and below in his army uniform; he died two years ago aged 97.

About caroleparkes

My husband calls me a butterfly because I flit from one hobby to another. Apart from being a wife for 52 years, a mother of three sons, and a grandmother, I'm also an author, genealogist, amateur artist, a lover of most needlecrafts, and occasional poet. Of the above, my most enduring interest has been writing and I hope to be doing it well into old age.
