Thank you for your kind comment, but I have no illusions about my artwork. I see plenty of faults, but then I find it so much fun, and feel if I took lessons the joy might elude me as I’d be concentrating on the correct methods too much.

Thank you so much for that kind comment. I was sixteen when I painted that, and my second attempt was a self portrait. My husband (then my boyfriend) bought me the oil paints as a present as I had expressed a desire to try. I only ever painted the two pictures in oils though as I found the length of time it took to dry frustrating. I didn’t take up painting again until I was nearly sixty. I now find I love it, but I always choose acrylic paints.
