Original Acrylic Painting

Quiet Beach 2

This is my second painting of the same scene. You’ll see many differences between this and the first one I posted. I just completed this one today. The first one I did is below. Which do you prefer?

About caroleparkes

My husband calls me a butterfly because I flit from one hobby to another. Apart from being a wife for 52 years, a mother of three sons, and a grandmother, I'm also an author, genealogist, amateur artist, a lover of most needlecrafts, and occasional poet. Of the above, my most enduring interest has been writing and I hope to be doing it well into old age.

The mountains on the horizon are photographically real–wow!

  2. I prefer today’s as it softer, more inviting. The previous painting is darker and more harsh. Both are great however 🙂

Both are good, but the most recent is light and sunnier. The sailboat in the first one is almost invisible. In the second, it stands out and adds a nice action touch to a peaceful scene.

They are both lovely but I prefer the light in the second one. Your artwork is fab!

  6. Nice to meet you – thanks for visiting me at roughwighting! Your art work is wonderful. In this post, I prefer the ‘second’ one you did, I think because of the lighting and the mood. What a beautiful spot.

the development of the second shows sensitivity to the colours being more full of light.
