This is my second painting of the same scene. You’ll see many differences between this and the first one I posted. I just completed this one today. The first one I did is below. Which do you prefer?

the development of the second shows sensitivity to the colours being more full of light.

Nice to meet you – thanks for visiting me at roughwighting! Your art work is wonderful. In this post, I prefer the ‘second’ one you did, I think because of the lighting and the mood. What a beautiful spot.

Thank you for your valuable comment, and yes, it’s a very beautiful place. I think it was in Terrigal beach, NSW Australia. Feel free to contradict me if you thnk it’s somewhere else. I took the photograph I copied it from.

I didn’t know where the setting was – only that I’d love to visit it! 🙂

They are both lovely but I prefer the light in the second one. Your artwork is fab!

Thank you Joanne! The second one is collecting more votes than the first, and so far is the favourite.

Both are good, but the most recent is light and sunnier. The sailboat in the first one is almost invisible. In the second, it stands out and adds a nice action touch to a peaceful scene.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Well spotted! The sailboat in the second one is further away from the shore, and therefore, smaller and weaker in colour.

It looks a really fun sport; I wish I was younger and still had good balance.

I prefer today’s as it softer, more inviting. The previous painting is darker and more harsh. Both are great however 🙂

Thank you! It’s amazing really how the mountains turn out because I find them the easiest thing to do.
