Original Acrylic Painting

Quiet Beach 2

This is my second painting of the same scene. You’ll see many differences between this and the first one I posted. I just completed this one today. The first one I did is below. Which do you prefer?

About caroleparkes

My husband calls me a butterfly because I flit from one hobby to another. Apart from being a wife for 52 years, a mother of three sons, and a grandmother, I'm also an author, genealogist, amateur artist, a lover of most needlecrafts, and occasional poet. Of the above, my most enduring interest has been writing and I hope to be doing it well into old age.

the development of the second shows sensitivity to the colours being more full of light.

  2. Nice to meet you – thanks for visiting me at roughwighting! Your art work is wonderful. In this post, I prefer the ‘second’ one you did, I think because of the lighting and the mood. What a beautiful spot.

They are both lovely but I prefer the light in the second one. Your artwork is fab!

Both are good, but the most recent is light and sunnier. The sailboat in the first one is almost invisible. In the second, it stands out and adds a nice action touch to a peaceful scene.

  6. I prefer today’s as it softer, more inviting. The previous painting is darker and more harsh. Both are great however 🙂
