Original Acrylic Painting – Rocky Beach

One from my imagination painted the week before Christmas. I think I’ll rework the rocks and their shadows . I’ve had a dreadful cold since New Years Eve, so once I’ve recovered I’ll have another go. I quite liked the sky though.

New Years resolution is to write more! I must write more!

About caroleparkes

My husband calls me a butterfly because I flit from one hobby to another. Apart from being a wife for 52 years, a mother of three sons, and a grandmother, I'm also an author, genealogist, amateur artist, a lover of most needlecrafts, and occasional poet. Of the above, my most enduring interest has been writing and I hope to be doing it well into old age.

Your paintings always look as though they are lighted from behind – so luminous and inspiring. Thank you!

Maybe it’s because I photograph them out in the sunny porch Marian. Thank you for your lovely comment, and for your support in 2014. You are really valued by me.

Very pretty scene. Can almost hear the waves lapping up on the rocks 🙂 Happy New Year and hope you feel better soon!

I admire all these authors who set themselves daily challenges and targets. Being with my husband 24/7 does curb my selfish instinct to shut myself up in one room and write, but I know I should allow myself at least one hour a day for this purpose.

I agree. I think you totally nailed the sky and ocean. It looks warm, too, in contrast to where I am right now which is encased in icicles.
