Thank you, Cynthia. I’m pleased you found your way to them. No skill involved, just an automatic point and shoot camera.

Is that what they’re called where you live? It’s the first one we’ve seen and we thought it was a Mandarin Duck.

Wood ducks are a different species. Both are handsome little guys, and where I live, a mandarin duck that escaped from an exotic bird breeder spent the winter of 1992 with five wood ducks on a local lake. It is an Asian breed, whereas the wood duck is North American in distribution.

Thank you for your input. The one I photographed was in Wales and roaming free.

I agree. When my children were young and I was home all day, while my husband worked, my world was very insular. However, now I’m nearly seventy, my world has broadened beyond belief with the aid of the internet and WordPress. I love meeting all the different people on here.

The stormy sky is what caught my eye right away. If edited it could be a fantastic pic. At first glance the house seems to block the view a bit, and so I thought, what if one took the house away? But on second thought, what would the storm be coming for? So in fact, it’s the bushes that are on the way, and make the pic look too natural. If it were only the house and the storm, it would be supernatural. I think. 🙂

Thank you for your thoughtful imput. I never thought about it possibly looking supernatural. I just saw the sky and ran out with my little camera. The neighbours must think I’m a little bit weird, ha ha.

Lots of people probably think I am a little weird when I set out to take a picture at very odd moments! LOL
Especially my family gets annoyed with me sometimes.

Thank you! I have just a little automatic type camera that suits me down to the ground. I just point and click. The only setting I’ve changed so far is setting the focus to macro for close ups..
