My First Ever Acylic Painting

The trees, mountains and pebbles aren't too bad, but oh dear!. Whatever happened to the stream? It looks as if it's travelling uphill, ha ha.

About caroleparkes

My husband calls me a butterfly because I flit from one hobby to another. Apart from being a wife for 52 years, a mother of three sons, and a grandmother, I'm also an author, genealogist, amateur artist, a lover of most needlecrafts, and occasional poet. Of the above, my most enduring interest has been writing and I hope to be doing it well into old age.

Carole, if this is your first acrylic painting, then I can’t wait to see your 10th! It’s stunning and calming at the same time, and as The Story Reading Ape says, oh to have talent like that!

You can look at it 100 different days, and still find something new in it, and to me, that is great artistry. I’m not being nice to you because of your very kind comment you left on my blog, but because I love paintings. My stepdad used to paint as well and I love the old artists like the Flemish medieval painters (I’m from Flanders, Belgium myself so I know a lot about them), and then Caravaggio, Michelangelo, daVinci… What I mean is, your work is stunning also and I’ll return to your blog more often to sit in quiet and watch your paintings!

    • Billie, I am honoured that you like my paintings so much. In each one I paint there is usually something I’m quite pleased with but also something I feel could be done better. My aim is to see everything I like in my painting. I suppose that will take me years, ha ha.

    • Thank you kind Sir. Hey, you have a bigger talent… for helping people. My paintings are fun and enjoyable for me to do, but are just that, FOR ME. You do a greater good because you act for others, so it’s hats off to you (and curtsies…with difficulty owing to these stiff knees, ha ha).
